Who says it never rains in Southern CA?
It has been raining all week here in Southern CA and yesterday at 1:24 p.m. a tornado passed through my neighborhood but missed my house-thank God!
Whoever wrote that famous song about it never raining in Southern CA hasn't seen it here lately!
I hope it subsides soon.
On the cooking front, there are a lot of new additions here on Cooking Up A Storm in Southern CA! (I hope I am not creating the storm ha ha!)
There is a Kids in the Kitchen segment with games and it will feature more recipes from my Kids in the Kitchen recipe group on Group Recipes.com. The recipes from this group will be featured in a cook book that I will write to help kids learn cooking skills and develop confidence, self-reliance, and a whole bunch of other good traits from learning a skill early in their lives.
I taught piano for 20 years and although I never had children, I love kids and want to help them aspire to great things, much in the same way that my mother, Ramona, helped me.
She made an impression on me early in life that I could do anything that I set my mind to do, and if I could visualize it, I could do it.
If you have a recipe that you would like featured in this segment or have ideas on something you would like to see on the blog/online magazine, just email it to:
CookingUpAStormInCA@gmail.com
Also, the links to all 13 of my Cooking Groups from my pages on that site are at:
http://www.grouprecipes.com/people/pollymotzko
You can now access each group from my site on the Recipe Links portion of the page.
If there are any problems accessing any of the links, please bring it to my attention and I will get the bugs worked out pronto.
I really have enjoyed the learning process of creating this site and all that goes with it.
There will be Jessica's Biscuit featured on this site in the future. I am working on an Affiliate Program with them now.
Also, I am hoping to become a Published Writer on Food Buzz in a few months as well.
God bless all who read my cooking blog and happy cooking to all!

Submit your best recipe to be featured on the site, complete with your picture & story
This site is going to be building with each passing day. I just learned how to create the type of blog I had always envisioned using the Google Blogger here.
If you have any suggestions and would like your special recipe to be featured, you can email it to me at: CookingUpAStormInCA@gmail.com
Make sure that you tell me your name so I can feature you and the story behind the recipe as well. The stories behind the recipes we make become our legacy that we can hand down.

Polly,
ReplyDeleteThanks much for posting my cream puffs video from the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Taste section. It was great fun to make, and even better to hear from people who never thought they could make cream puffs.
Let me also invite your readers to Baking 101, a Facebook page created by me and my friend, Klecko, a master baker. We've got an international discussion going about all things baking!
Knead on!
Kim
Dear Kim,
ReplyDeleteHow nice to hear from you! You are the first to visit my page here and try out this Echo communication system I added recently! :-) I am happy to see it works!
What is the link to your Baking 101 page? Send it to me at: CookingUpAStormInCA@gmail.com or you can post it for all to see.
